Ellen J. (Weathers) Ault

Ellen Jacqueline Weathers Ault, 88, a long time resident of Grand Prairie and current resident of Arlington, died on Thursday, March 8, 2014 following a brief illness. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX. Funeral: Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1705 N. Irving Heights, Blvd, Irving, TX. Burial: Southland Memorial Park. Ellen was born on June 15, 1925, the oldest of four children born in Comanche, Texas to the late Carthul Eugene Butler and the late Nancy Inez Russell Butler. She was raised near Comanche, meeting the late Arthur Wayne Weathers at Ft. Brown in Brownwood. They would have two sons in Brownwood before moving to Northwest Arkansas. Another son and daughter would be added to the family, before the final and fifth child would be born when they moved back to Texas in 1951. Ellen was a devoted mother and Christian, always involved in her church. While in Grand Prairie, she was a member of Fairview Baptist Church before moving to Dalworth Baptist Church. (Now Westridge Baptist) In her golden years, Ellen loved to knit and travel. After moving to Matlock Place in Arlington, she would serve as Secretary for the Social Group and was also involved in the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by parents; Carthul Eugene Butler and Inez Russell (Miller); brothers, John Ely, Duane Butler; husbands; Arthur Wayne Weathers and Jack R. Ault. Survivors include her children; Anthony (Tony) Wayne Weathers and his wife Joy of Grand Prairie, Arthur Michael (Mike) Weathers and wife Joyce of Grand Prairie, Nancy Ann Hanshew and husband Lonnie of Iredell, Kevin Butler Weathers and his wife Charlotte of Arlington, Troy Douglas Weathers and his wife Catherine of St. Petersburg, FL; 14 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
