Elisa Gaona, 78, a native of Saragosa, Texas and resident of Grand Prairie, died on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at a hospital in Arlington. Visitation: 2 to 9 Wednesday, April 2, 2014 with Rosary at 7. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Elisa was born on December 26, 1935, the oldest of 5 daughters born to the late Porfirio Arenibaz and Isabel Hernandez. The family would move to Sweetwater where she would live until she married Rodolfo Gaona. He would move the family to Grand Prairie where they would spend the rest of her life. Elisa loved to play bingo and crochet. She was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grand Prairie. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Rodolfo Gaona; children, Rodolfo Gaona Jr and his wife Josie, Carlos Gaona and his spouse Linda, Katy Leyva and her spouse Enrique; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; mother, Isabel Arenibaz, sisters, Ramona Anderson, Mary Adela Lomas, Edna Rhodehamel and her spouse Charles and Ester Gomez.
