Jaime Salazar

Jaime Salazar, loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, entered into eternal life, unexpectedly and quietly on May 29, 2014 at his home in Grand Prairie. Visitation: 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050. Jaime was born on March 10, 1950, the 2nd of 3 children born to the late Vicoriano Salazar and Virginia (Castenada) Salazar in Weslaco, Texas. After graduation, he would join the US Navy, retiring after 22 years. While in the military, he would attend college, earning a B.A. from Columbia College. After his military service, he would become employed by the US Postal Service, working 24 years as a sorter at the main Dallas US Post Office. As time allowed, Jaime enjoyed fishing. (his family recalls it being time spent sitting and napping) He was a “jack of all trades”, enjoying many special projects around his home. Survivors include his mother, Virginia Salazar; siblings, Yolanda Burciaga and her spouse Artemio, Rogelio Salazar and his spouse Odelia; caring wife of 42 years, Margaret (Louis) Salazar; children, Victoria Star Vasquez, Angela Beth Avina and her spouse Leonardo, Federico Joel Salazar and 9 grandchildren.
