Carol Jean “Mamoose” Stearns, 79, a long time resident of Irving, Texas, died on Friday, August 29, 2014 in Irving. Carol was born on January 31, 1935, 1 out of 5 children born to the late Lowell Marlowe and the late Elizabeth Oaks. Carol loved to Journal and write and loved to travel with her sisters, she also loved to do book keeping, but more than anything she loved her family. Her grandchildren would become one of the most important things in her life and would later become known to them as “Mamoose”. Carol attended South MacArthur Church of Christ, in Irving, over a number of years. Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years Ronnie Stearns, Son, Grady Stearns, and Sister Donna Deason. Survivors include: Daughters, Valerie Welborn and husband Jeff, of Houston, TX, Daughter, Vicki Haynes and husband Terry, or Irving, TX, Daughter, Sandra Jones and husband Jim, of Irving, TX; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; Sisters, Pat Elliott, Joyce DeRoach, Darlene Wooten, and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, TX. Arrangements entrusted to Guerrero Dean Funeral Home, under the supervision of Aaron King, Funeral Director.
