Dwain Steele, 84, passed from this life into the loving arms of his Savior, on September 13, 2014. He was born Sept. 3, 1930 in Tulia, Texas to the late James Jefferson and Ellie Elizabeth Steele. Dwain served his country in the US Navy, put himself through school at Texas Tech while supporting a growing family. He later retired after 27 years, as V.P. of Operations with Optron Electronics. He was a kind and gentle soul, who never spoke ill of anyone, and always had a good thought and deed for those with whom he encountered. That spirit of building up others even transferred to the homes that they bought. If they could find a “diamond in the rough” house and make it into a home, Dwain and Vyda were happy. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Memorial Service will be held at Flower Mound Community Church, 3415 Cross Timbers Road at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 25th. Private family interment with honors is being held at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Surdacki, Rhonda and Teresa with J. Harris Hospice for the love and exceptional care they provided to Dwain and the family. Survivors: Wife: Vyda of Flower Mound, Sons: Dwain, Jr., and wife Melissa of Flower Mound, Jerry and girlfriend Vibiana of Flower Mound, Tripp and wife, Samantha of Dallas, Sisters: Jerry Cannon, Lou Ann Smith and husband Glenn, Brothers: Jimmy and wife, Jean, Ric and wife Sandra, and Vic and wife Brenda, Grandchildren: Cameron Dwain, Tyler, Caitlin, Payton, Jordan and Addison, along with a hosts of nieces, nephews and friends.
