Gary Lynn Ford, 62, a native of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and long-time resident of the Dallas area, passed from this life to life eternal on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in McKinney. Graveside Service: 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Sparkman-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas. Gary was born on November 17, 1952, the youngest of 3 children born to the late Joe Lynn Ford and the late Nina Norine Frankline Ford. As the child of a military family, he would live in various places across the United States, including San Antonio, Austin, Montgomery and in Florida. After his father’s military service, the family would settle in Irving. Gary was skilled in sign design and was instrumental in several noteworthy projects. One of his proudest accomplishments was the work he performed on the sign that is now at the Texas Motor Speedway. It also complimented one of his favorite pastimes, automobile racing. He was also a sports enthusiast and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He is survived by a daughter, Jerri Christina Ford-Jennings; 2 grandchildren; sisters, Julia Johnson, Lynne Woods; nephews, Jason Johnson, Vance Johnson, Keith Johnson, Doug Woods, Steven Woods, Brad Woods; and a niece, Carol Anne Roman. Gary had been a member of Lions Clubs International.
