Josephine Denise Sosa, 38, a native of Dallas, passed into eternal life on Friday, September 19, 2014 at a local care center in DeSoto, Texas. A private family burial will occur at a later date. Josephine was born on April 28, 1976, the daughter of the late Joe Richard Sosa and the late Guadalupe Perez Sosa. She worked many years as an employee of Kid Quarters Day Care. Before the decline of her health, Josephine loved to dance, go out for dinner, listen to good music or watch a good movie. Bob Paul Daniel, 76, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law, died peacefully at a local hospital surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050, Pastor Ed Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Southland Cemetery. Bob was born on May 1, 1938, the oldest of 4 children born to the late Leo J. Daniel and the late Lennie Jean Brown Daniel in Hobart, Oklahoma. He would live in several cities, including Lubbock where he would meet the love of his life, Mae House. They would marry and spend the next fifty-one years of their life together. In his younger years, he would drive trucks before eventually settling in a career with Roadway Express. He would continue with them, working as mechanic until his retirement in 2000. As a young man, Bob had a love for fast cars and racing. He was an accomplished driver and received numerous trophies for wins on the race track while living in west Texas. Before the decline of his health, he loved spending time outdoors, hunting or sharing a cold Dr. Pepper. In later years, he loved attending storage auctions and flea markets. He shared a special bond with friends at the Forest Hill Indoor Outdoor Flea Market. Survivors: wife, Mae House Daniel; children, Bob Daniel and his companion, Jerrie Skonetski, Ricky Daniel and his wife Julie, Heather Rosales and her spouse Camilo; grandchildren, Brittany, Justin, Amanda, Alexis, Trenton, Emilie; great-grandchildren, Kailee, Caleb; brother, Ronny Daniel and his wife Ella; Pam Hunt and her husband Jack; step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Benjamin. Pallbearers will be Justin Daniel, Trenton Daniel, Jeremy Garcia, Joe Garcia, Monte House and Jerry McNeely. Ruth (Margie) Marjoria Isom passed away Saturday on October 4, 2014 at 2:36 p.m. at the age of 75. Ruth as he called her is survived by Kenneth Ray Isom her loving husband of 54 years. They were married in Peoria, Illinois on April 30, 1960. Margie is lovingly remembered by her Brother and sister in-law Gary and Bobbi Marshall and nieces Rachel Burwell, Lindsey Marshall and Jessica McMeyer. Also, remembered by her daughters, Dawn Annette Guthrie of Weatherford, TX and Robin Ray Green of Jamaica Beach, TX. She was known as Grandma to her 8 grandchildren Tina Badger, Tiffany Kramer, Holli Smith, Megan Rasey, Kenneth Kramer, Amanda Powell, Ryan Powell and Zachary Guthrie. She also had 6 great grandchildren Leyton Kent, Noah Gracie, Aydin Smith, Payton Goree, Katie Kramer and Benito Rosas. She is predeceased by her parents Roy and Dorothy Marshall, her daughter Judi Gail Kramer, her sisters Judy Mcllnay, Mary Froman, Helen Froman, Alice Froman, Anna Froman and her brothers Jerry Froman Jr., Robert Froman, and Clyde Froman. Margie was born in Peoria, Illinois on August 25, 1939. She worked as a nanny before she married in 1960. She then became a homemaker and raised three daughters. Margie was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church Arlington. She enjoyed spending time with her husband Ken, her friends, family and pets. She was an avid dog lover and the owner of 6 dogs, Samson, Delilah, Comanche, Jasper, Ike and Maxie, and one Quaker Parrot named Rocky. The service of remembrance will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211 on Tuesday October 14th at 2:15p.m. Friends are invited to a reception immediately following the service. Robert Edward Thornton, 75, a native of Hamilton, Texas and long time resident of Grand Prairie, died on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church. Friends may visit between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, 75050. A private family graveside service will occur and Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens. Robert was the youngest of 6 children born to the late William Henry Thornton and the late Lena Smith Thornton. After graduation from Hamilton High School, he would marry his childhood sweetheart, Jo Cozby. They would move to Grand Prairie where they would raise their 3 children. Robert would start a career with IBM, eventually retiring after more than 30 years of service. Even after his retirement, he would remain active, working for The Dallas County Appraisal District and Chesapeake Energy. Robert had a long life of giving back to others. His community service included serving on the School Board, City Council and Hospital Board. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie for more than fifty-four years, serving on the Deacon Board of Trustees. He loved his family deeply. He cherished the times that he could spend with them, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed occasional trips with his wife, Jo. Survivors: wife of fifty-four years; Jo Cozby Thornton; children, Scott Thornton and his wife Sharon, Tammy Thornton Buffington and her husband Charles, Shane Thornton and his wife Cindy; grandchildren; Tanna, Audra, Austin, Laurel, Rollin, Aubrey, Cody; great-grandchildren, Brilee, Cerly, Audree Ann, Zeke and Avery. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050. Cledith was born on May 4, 1943, the oldest of 2 children born to the late Clayton Marsh and the late Dessie Georgia Braddock Marsh. He was know as a great salesman, very easy to talk with and very gregarious. He was a successful entrepreneur and owner of various businesses over the years. He initially owned Marsh’s Grocery Store in Cooper, a bait store and gas station. His next venture was in the landscape business and then to used furniture in Sulpher Springs. His most recent venture would be in the restaurant business, starting Marsh’s Landing in Pelican Bay. Survivors: sister, Carolyn Eaton; nieces and nephews, including, Misty Russell Guffey and her husband James, Melvin Curtis Russell III and his wife Emily, Russell Eaton and his wife Latasha, Bethany Eaton; many great-nieces and great-nephews.

The daughter of a military family, she would live in various locations as her father traveled with the US Navy. She would settle in Grand Prairie where she would graduate from Grand Prairie High School. Sue LaVerne Almand
Sue Almand, 68, of Arlington, Texas, entered into eternal life on Friday, October 24, 2014 with her family by her side. Sue was born on April 22, 1946, the daughter to the late Alvin Lewis Almand and the late Nannie Belle Pratt. After high school Sue went on to become a commercial seamstress for many years. she loved sewing, and growing flowers, she loved to crochet, and loved to learn of her Indian Heritage, more than anything Sue loved her family, and her grandchildren. Survivors: Daughter, Rhonda Johnson and husband Dave; Sons, David Coates, Timothy Russell; Daughter, Donna Red Eagle and husband Josh; Brothers, Richard Almand and wife Jan, Bob Almand and wife Mary; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard Edward Jakab
Leonard Edward Jakab, 68, a native of Ravenna, Ohio and long-time resident of Grand Prairie, died on October 31, 2014 at the age of 68 in Arlington, Texas. Services are pending. Leonard was born on February 11, 1946, the son of the late Frank Emory Jakab and the late Helen Mary Viagi Jakab. He would graduate from high school in Ravenna, Ohio, and would spend his younger years in the Cleveland area. He would initially work in the print business before getting into the gas station business in the 1980’s. After selling his businesses, he would move to Grand Prairie where he would start dealing in real estate. One of his business ventures would include the purchase of cemetery property where he would become partners of American Memorial Park in Grand Prairie. He would build the only privately owned mausoleum in Grand Prairie. Another venture would find him dealing with one of his early passions, motorcycles. He had a love for antique motorcycles, and would spend countless hours at motorcycle shops observing them. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Anna Fay niere Jakab; children, Heather Jakab, Clint Jakab and his wife Julie, Anthony Jakab, Adam Jakab; grandchild, Alex Jakab; brother, Frank Jakab and his wife Elaine.
Cesar Alfonso Loera
Cesar Alfonso Loera, 49, a resident of Grand Prairie, died on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Memorial services are pending. Cesar was born on August 2, 1965, in Monterrey, Mexico, the son of Cesar G. Loera and the late Josefina Lopez Loera. He was a graduate of Grand Prairie High School and a long-time resident of Grand Prairie. Cesar loved music, the outdoors and camping. He was an accomplished cook, and enjoyed a good meal, either at home or going to a nice place to eat. He is survived by his father, Cesar Loera; siblings, Arturo Loera and his spouse Maria, Thelma Loera, Carlos Loera and his spouse Esmeralda, Gabriella Loera, Alex Loera; companion, Edgar Newport.

Amelia Elizaldi Valdez, 87, a native of Robstown, Texas and resident of Grand Prairie, passed from this life to life eternal on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at a hospital in Arlington, Texas. Amelia was born on March 4, 1927, the youngest of 6 children and the daughter of the late Jose Elizaldi and the late Maria Elena Garcia. Her younger years would find her attending school in Robstown before moving to Corpus Christi where she worked many years as a Nurse’s Aide. As a young widow and mother of 6 children, she always worked hard, proving a happy home for her family. Amelia was a marvelous cook. She enjoyed watching her “stories” and spending time with her neighbors. When she was in better health, she loved to dance. She was inquisitive, (some family members will laugh while describing it as “nosy”) always interested in keeping up with her family and activities. Survivors include her children; Lionel Valdez, Delia Vargas, Maria Elena Hernandez and her spouse Manuel, Esther Ovalle and her spouse John; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; sister, Ernestina Corrubia. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Rudy Valdez and Daniel Valdez.

Dale Lee Cheatham, a salesman for O’Reilly Auto Parts, died on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 surrounded by his family at his home in Grand Prairie. Memorial Service: 12 Noon on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050, Chaplain Paul Reddy officiating. Dale was born on June 10, 1956, the 3rd of 5 children born to the late Everett James Craig and the late Mary Helen Wilborn. His father would move the family to Oklahoma where he worked in the oil fields. Dale would grow up in Kingfisher, graduating from Kingfisher High School where he lettered in football and baseball He would briefly move to Geddings, Texas where he would work as a pumper for his father’s oil company. In 1980, he moved to the DFW area where he would reside until the time of his death. Dale was an avid Nascar fan. He was a skilled mechanic, and loved working on race cars. If time allowed, he would spend time fishing, watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys or just spend time playing with his grandchildren. Survivors: wife of 26 years, Therese Esqibel Cheatham; children, Darrin Robertson and his spouse Cristal, Eric Robertson, and his spouse Mandy, Jessica Cheatham Ogier and her spouse Jimmy, Marsha Cheatham and her partner April Vanetta; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings, James Harlan Cheatham and his spouse Cynthia, Jacquetta Koehn and her spouse Jimmie, De Ann Anhalt and her spouse David, Clarence Edward Cheatham and his spouse Allison. Charlotte was born on September 2, 1931 in New Amsterdam, Harrison County, Indiana. She was the youngest child and daughter of the late Alvin Loren Enlow and the late Ann Trobaugh Enlow Redden. Survivors: children, Gwendolyn Ann Weinberg and her finance’ George Reddington, Glenn Michael Coffman and his spouse Carol, Mark Allen Schrader and his spouse Jennifer, Brian Linn Schrader and his spouse Becky; grandchildren, Glenda Allen, Barbara Weinberg, Amy Coffman, Clint Schrader, Jacob Schrader, Joshua Schrader, Justin Schrader; great-grandchildren, Carson, Jackson, Tucker, Tyler and Brinlee. Stephen Cody Cox
Stephen “Steve” Cody Cox, 66, loving brother and uncle, entered into life eternal on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at a local hospital in Dallas following a lengthy battle with cancer. Graveside service: 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Steve was born on July 10, 1948, the son of the late Gordon Cox Jr. and the late Jean Dale Mayo Cox in Dallas, Texas. He would attend school in the Carrollton area, graduating from R.L. Turner High School. Shortly after high school, he would join the US Army, serving as a medic in Korea during the Vietnam War era. Because of the Vietnam War, little was published about the conflict in Korea during this time. Some of that particular history may be viewed at http://www.koreanwar.org/html/dmz_war.html. It is known that South Korea now still exist because of the brave efforts of the US military during that period of time. When he was younger, Steve’s father worked as a barber at Brookhaven Country Club. His associations would allow him to serve as caddie to professional golfer, Lon Hinkle. His love for golf would become a integral part of his life, and he would play as often as possible. During his illness, he never lost his sense of humor. He was gregarious and fun to be around. He had an easy way around ladies, and his flirty ways could make them comfortable. He helped his family as caregiver to his mother, 2 grandmothers and an aunt. He often joked he was in charge of “DDTs” (dogs, dishes and trash). He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Vale and her husband John; nephews, Shawn Vale, Christopher Vale, Matthew Vale and a niece, Heather Vale Robertson.
Steven Doyle Young Sr
Steven “Steve” Doyle Young, 59, loving father, grandfather and brother, departed this life on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at a local hospital. Visitation: 11 to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2104 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050, where funeral services will be conducted at 12:30. Burial will follow at DFW National Cemetery. Steve was born on June 7, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Robert Doyle Young and the late Nola Isabelle Barker Young. At the age of 5, his family would move to Dallas where he attended schools, living in the Oak Cliff area. Shortly after school, he would join the US Marine Corps, serving in Okinawa, Japan. After his tour of duty, he would return to the United States where he would work for Austin Paving, working on many of the roads in the DFW area. Later, he worked for Safelite Auto Glass Repair until 1999, when he would be declared completely disabled. Even throughout his disability, he would become the primary caregiver for his mother until the time of her death. Steve had many passions. His Harley Davidson motorcycle was at the top of the list, along with shooting guns, tinkering around the home and building things with various items he would find. He was a devoted father and grandfather, and loved being outdoors. Survivors: sons, Steven Doyal Young Jr. and his wife Michelle, Jeremy Young; grandchildren, Dylan Young, Haley Young; brothers, Robert Young, Stan Young and Don Young.
